Junk Car Removal in Cleveland, OH
Four flats, no keys, a seized engine, or a car frozen to the driveway since January. The flatbed shows up with the cable and the skates, and the ride to the recycler is on us.
A Dead Car Costs More Every Month It Sits
A dead car in a Cleveland driveway gets worse every month it sits. The plates expire, the landlord or the block club starts leaving notes, the brake rotors rust solid, and the tires go flat and split along the sidewall. Leave it past 72 hours inside the city and it meets the definition of a junk motor vehicle under Codified Ordinance 451.27, which means a notice from the city and ten days to garage it or get rid of it. Leave it a year and somebody slides under it one night on E. 55th and takes the catalytic converter, which is one of the more valuable pieces on it.
People assume hauling it off will cost money, and fair enough, a regular tow across the county is not cheap. That math flips once the car is the thing being purchased. The vehicle pays for its own ride to the recyclers in the valley, which is why the truck is free and you still walk away with money at the curb.
Awkward spots are normal here. The driveways between the doubles in Old Brooklyn and Slavic Village are one car wide, so a sedan that died at the back of the lot has to come out on a cable. Apartment lots along Clifton in Lakewood and Mayfield in the Heights come with a tow-away sticker already on the glass. Salt-rusted cars on tree lawns in Collinwood, pickups behind shops on Brookpark Road, a van in a church lot in Parma that has been there since the pastor retired. We load all of it.
Proud to Serve Cuyahoga County
Pickups run west on I-90 and the Shoreway to Lakewood, Rocky River, Westlake and North Olmsted, southwest on I-71 to Brook Park, Berea and Strongsville, south on I-77 to Parma, Independence and Broadview Heights, southeast on I-480 to Garfield Heights, Maple Heights, Bedford and Solon, and east up Cedar Hill to the Heights, Shaker and Euclid.
What's Included
The Flatbed and the Winch
Every truck we send carries a winch with enough cable to reach a car parked at the back of a Cleveland double's driveway. No brakes, no steering, no wheels that turn, the driver uses skates and brings it to the street on the cable.
Tight Lots and Tree Lawns
Apartment lots on Clifton and Lake Road, church lots, the strip behind a Lorain Avenue storefront. If the flatbed can get within cable reach the car comes out. The driver lays mats so the tree lawn is not torn up.
Winter Loads
A car frozen into a driveway in Garfield Heights still gets loaded. The driver shovels the tires clear, breaks the ice at the wheels, and winches it up. We do not wait for the thaw and neither should you.
Paperwork at the Curb
The driver checks the VIN on the dash against the Ohio title, looks at your ID, watches you sign the back, and hands you payment. Then and only then does the car go on the truck.
Typical Junk Car Prices Around Cleveland
These are typical ranges for Cuyahoga County. They are not quotes. Where your car lands depends mostly on weight, then on whether the drivetrain and the converter are still on it, then on what scrap steel is bringing that month.
| Type of vehicle | Condition assumed | Typical range |
|---|---|---|
| Compact (Civic, Corolla, Cobalt class) | Does not run, nothing stripped, converter on | Low hundreds |
| Mid-size sedan or small crossover | Does not run, rust at the rockers, complete | Low to middle hundreds |
| Minivan or mid-size SUV | Engine and transmission in it, converter on | Middle hundreds |
| Full-size pickup or SUV (F-150, Silverado, Tahoe class) | Complete, any condition | Upper hundreds, sometimes past that |
| Any of the above with the converter already cut out | As above, minus the converter | Take a real chunk off the range |
| Rolling shell, engine and transmission gone | Steel weight only | Low hundreds or less |
The phone quote is the real number for your car. Ranges here are for orientation only and move with the scrap market, which in Cleveland follows what the valley mills and the recyclers are paying week to week.
Why Sellers Pick Us
The Phone Price Holds
Describe the car honestly and the figure we give you on the call is what the driver pays on Superior Avenue or out in Strongsville. We don't go finding new problems once you've already moved the good car to the street.
Free Tow Anywhere in the County
Westlake to Euclid, Bay Village to Solon, the tow is on us. Nothing comes off the price for the truck, the winch, or the forty minutes it takes to get a car out from behind a garage in Parma.
We Know the Title Office
The Cuyahoga County title office on E. 9th Street is a few blocks from our door. Lost title, lien that was paid off years ago, car in a late parent's name, we tell you exactly what to bring and which form to ask for.
Winter Is Not a Problem
A car that died in January and froze to the driveway still gets picked up. The driver brings a winch, skates and a shovel. Salt-rusted, no brakes, no steering, we have loaded worse off a tree lawn in Collinwood.
Ready to Get It Gone?
Call with the year, make, model and what is wrong with it. You get a number and a pickup window on the same call.
How It Works
1. Call With the Basics
Year, make, model, does it run, is the engine in it, is the converter still there, where is it parked, and whose name is on the title. That is the whole list.
2. Get the Number
You hear a real figure for your specific car on the call, not a range copied off a chart. If the car matches your description when the driver arrives, that is what you get.
3. Pick a Window
Same day is common inside Cleveland and the inner suburbs. Strongsville, Solon and North Olmsted usually run a day or two out. Snow days push things, and we say so.
4. Sign, Get Paid, Done
Plates off, personal items out, title signed, payment in hand. Cancel the insurance after the truck leaves and the car is no longer your problem.
Free Junk Car Towing & Removal: Common Questions
Can you get a car out of a garage?
Usually. If the garage door opens and the driver can get the flatbed lined up in the driveway, the car comes out on the winch cable even with a dead battery and flat tires. Detached garages at the back of a city lot sometimes need the car dragged to the apron first, and we handle that on site.
Do you pick up in the snow?
Yes. We run through Cleveland winters. A car that has to be dug out adds time, and a lake-effect storm can push a pickup to the next day, but it does not cancel the sale or change the price.
Does the tow come off my price?
No. The tow is free everywhere in Cuyahoga County. The number you hear on the phone is the number you get at the curb.
What if the car is on a tow-away list at my apartment?
Call us before the lot gets it. Once a tow company has impounded the car you are paying their fees to get it back, and the car rarely covers them. If it is still in your space, we can usually get there the same day.
